Wednesday – larking about on the reef

After a lazy morning on the beach reading we were looking forward to our afternoon trip out, to a local bakery.  This is the only bakery on the islands, and apparently they serve amazing tea and cake (so we were told).

Unfortunately, we were informed just before departure time, that due to not enough people wanting to go the trip would not run today.

To console ourselves we hired out snorkel gear and went out on the reef for a couple of hours.  We had an amazing time out on the reef, seeing several species of fish that we had never seen before…below are a selection of them.

P9221468

Sea coral.

P9221499

Yellow puffer fish.

P9221503

Lion fish (we think…correct us if this is wrong!)

P9221494

Nameless (apologies, we don’t know this ones name)

As we have now been at the resort for one week, we now know the routine…’Curry Night’ for dinner, and then ‘Retro Movie Night’…which unfortunately for the men was Dirty Dancing.  Needless to say Ben has not been converted to loving ‘chick flicks’!!
