This morning we started the day with a continental breakfast at the restaurant, a short walk from our lodge room. The view from our lodge is below…not a bad one we think!
We then picked our spot on the beach – its damn hard work this ‘relaxing’ holiday!
Top right (just in case you were wondering) is Ben’s exact view from our shaded sun lounger.
Ben even made friends with the resort dog Charlie, a bit of a celebrity around these parts we have heard!
Lunch once again was delicious, we won’t make you jealous with what we had…lets just say our decision to pay for the ‘meal plan’ has so far proved a good one!
We hit the restaurant early tonight, in time for Happy Hour and to watch the sunset with a cheap G&T (no longer Bombay Sapphire, but hey this local stuff is not bad!)
Tonight we joined (from right to left) Sammy, John and Rocky for a traditional Cava ceremony.
A funny Fijian drink made from the root of a Cava plant, and mixed with water…drunk from a coconut shell and in our opinion not that tasty. In appearance it looked like muddy water, and on drinking made your mouth go numb.
Tonight after dinner we joined ranks with some fellow Europeans to partake in ‘Fijian Quiz Night’. Our team was an interesting mix; 4 Brits, 1 Irish, 1 Scottish, 1 Italian and 1 French – the last two members were a gay couple who were hilarious! A bit of a winning combination for the most part though as we won a couple of rounds and were awarded a bottle of bubbly…sadly our talents at impersonations and coconut bowling were not strong enough to take us into overall first place – oh well, there is always next week!
