Goodbye Cambodia, GOOD MORNING VIETNAM !!

Up early and checked out of our guest house, Pim took us to the airport (the scenic route past Angkor Wat for a final final look) before we said goodbye.

Everything at the airport went smoothly and we landed on time in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), where the hotel had laid on a driver to pick us up. After a few minutes in the HCMC traffic we were very glad – there don’t seem to be any road rules here and at any one time there are swarms of motorbikes as far as you can see in any direction !

Thankfully our hotel is in a relatively quiet street, again the room is basic but clean, and we have access to the internet from a computer just outside our room. We have already booked a day trip to the Cu Chi tunnels used by the Viet Cong in the war, we are also planning to spend tomorrow walking the city (if we figure out how to get across the road !!) and also book a boat trip up the Mekong Delta before we leave.

And tonight, our first taste of Vietnamese food !!

  1. Hello Uncle Ben & Auntie Nicola
I have enjoyed looking at all your photos, especially the aeroplane and the Facebook Mister Polar & Woof Woof photos. Please do some more pictures of vehicles, like dumper trucks or lorries and stuff, and a picture of Mister Polar and Woof Woof out in the street.
Thank you! I have been back at school this week after a snow week, I got two stickers for being good.
    lots of love
    Joseph xx
