Saturday – Cairns, the journey ends (5005 kms total)

So, the great road trip north in our little camper ended today in a fond farewell at the Travellers Autobarn Office in the City centre.  After putting it through the carwash (the contract states we have to leave it spotless!) we dropped our stuff off at the hostel and returned the van.

And, as one adventure ends another begins…we went and got fitted for our dive kit at Pro Dive Cairns and enrolled for the Advanced Open Water Course.  So, the leisurely 3 day dive trip we initially booked has now become an 11 dive class room, as we undertake the next stage of our diving qualification; deep dive (to 30metres), night dive, underwater navigation, underwater naturalist (not to be confused with naturist!), and underwater photography.

No photos today folks as we have spent the whole afternoon swatting up on the textbook part of the course!  Good news is we are hiring an underwater camera, so hopefully there will be lots of amazing photos to report back on Tuesday/Wednesday when we get back to dry land!!!

  1. Hello Uncle Ben and Auntie Nicola
Hope you're having a nice holiday and having a good time in Australia. I liked the koala picture! He's just like the one Uncle John bought me. I'm not going to baby ballet today because Miss Sarah's sister is getting married. I'm wearing my England kit and Joseph is wearing his. We're having a barbecue tonight because it's a very hot day.
lots of love from me, Maisie xxxxx
