Freaky Friday ... how do nine million people get around Saigon ....

... on four million motorbikes of course.

Up early and out on the streets of Saigon to see the sights. First though we had to weave our way through the traffic and negotiate crossing the road - no such thing as a zebra crossing here !!

Firstly we headed to the War Remnants Museum (formally the Museum of America War Crimes), from some pretty grim reminders of the brutality of war, and some pretty cool American helicopters and tanks hanging around.

From there we headed off to find the Jade Emporer Pagoda, after circling the right block a couple of times we eventually found it hidden by a cloud of incense smoke !

Then downtown to visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and the most impressive Post Office either of us have ever been in, before a final stop at the Reunification Palace, the former presidential palace of South Vietnam which has remained unchanged since the North Vietnamese took control in 1975 - we particularly like the basement war rooms with rows of 1970s maps, telephones and radio sets.

Back through the afternoon rush hour for a nap, before heading out to Pho 24 for traditional Vietnamese noodle soup.
